I come with a new post, and this time it is focused on the computer security environment. Did you know that anyone can see your Wi-Fi password from your computer? Any individual who approaches your monitor and knows about this, can steal your modem key so that he can access it in the same way.

How do we prevent this? Well, that's why I did this simple tutorial, so that this option is disabled by default. Without further ado, let's get started!

How to hide the Wi-Fi key in Windows 8 or 10?

First of all, I want to show you that this is true. Accessing the wireless properties of the network, we can see the password:

Now, keeping this in mind, we can continue:

1. In Windows Start, type "Run" or "Win + R" to open "Run."
2. In the box, write "Regedit" and give it the permissions it asks for.
3. A window will open for you. Locate the "Edit" menu and click on "Search".
4. Enter in the box "appid" and click on "Find next" or press "Enter".
5. Open the "AppID" folder indicated by the system.
6. Find the folder "{86F80216-5DD6-4F43-953B-35EF40A35AEE}".
7. Right click on that folder and click on "Permissions".
8. Now, click on "Advanced Options".
9. Click on "Change", it's a blue link at the top.
10. Click on "Advanced Options" again.
11. Click on «Search now».
12. On the bottom bar, scroll to find "USERS" and click it.
13. Click on "OK" (bottom of the window).
14. Now, click on «Apply».
15. Again "OK".
16. You will be given the permissions of «{86F80216-5DD6-4F43-953B-35EF40A35AEE}», in the section of «Names of groups or users», delete all the sections except for «SYSTEM».
17. Now, select "SYSTEM", and on the "SYSTEM permissions" section, "Read" section, check the "Deny" box.
18. Once this is done, click on "Apply" and "Yes."
19. Done, close everything and YOU'RE FINISHED.
