WE START:

Welcome. A few days ago my father asked me: «Son, I can't install any more apps. How can I free up space on my cell phone? » I explained what are the best practices for him to do to keep his cell phone free of unnecessary things. Today I come to tell you what I told him, because surely you will be in the same predicament. Without further ado, let's go !:

Good practices to vacate memory space on your Android

Delete apps that you no longer need:

Yes, we want to have many useful apps for entertainment (like games), finance, social networks, super calculators, etc. But do you use all of them? In my father's case, this consumed a lot of memory space, so he had to delete around 5 applications that he didn't even remember that he had installed.

But… How can I delete an application from my Android?

Very easy. Follow these steps:

Step 1. Go to "Settings" on your phone.

Step 2. Go to the «Applications» menu and uninstall the ones you do not use, by clicking on them and clicking on «Uninstall».

Delete application storage and / or cache:

If you occupy all the apps, you can choose to delete the storage, or in this case the data that the applications you use have created.

You can remove application storage by following the following points:

Step 1. Go to "Settings" on your phone.

Step 2. Go to «Applications».

Step 3. Select an application that is heavy.

Step 4. In the "Storage" section, you can see how much the application has occupied. Enter on that section and click on «Delete data».

Important note: doing this will erase potentially important app data. For example: if it is a game, you will lose your progress.

For the cache issue, they are residual files that applications create over time, which are a separate thing from their storage data. Within the same "Storage" section of each application, you can click on "Clear cache" to eliminate those junk files.

Now, from Android 4.2 onwards, you can delete all the application cache at once, by going to the path «Settings> Applications»And clicking on«Cached data«.

Delete files you don't need:

I'm going to ask you a question: how many photos do you have stored in your gallery? Well, surely thousands, counting the memes, photos of copied tasks, screenshots of conversations, uff ...

Well, the joke here is to delete all the photos you no longer need, and this may take tens of minutes, but you will have to. Similarly, I am not only referring to photos, but all files stored on your cell phone (such as: PDFs, sound files, video, etc).

I recommend that you use the file manager of your phone to navigate between folders that you know you have saved these files that you do not need.

Use third-party apps to clean your phone:

We reached the end point. In the case of my father, he did not know how to do the previous steps, so I had to do them myself, and explain how to use the application that I recommend the most for cleaning: CCleaner.

It weighs little, like about 30 MB. Once you install it, you just have to scan your phone for junk files. When the scan is finished, it will show you the results.

Among the CCleaner results, you will see the following aspects:

  • Downloaded files and empty folders to delete.
  • Cache files to delete.
  • Old copies of WhatsApp (in case you have it).
  • Call records to delete.
  • Applications to be cleaned manually.

And well, with this we end our post. Leave us in the comments how much space you could free up! Until another post.
